• DJI, the maker of popular Phantom drones announces world’s first handheld 4K camera

    DJI, the company behind popular Phantom drones has launched a new fully integrated, stabilized handheld 4K camera. DJI is calling the device Osmo and it comes with a standrad 12-megapixel camera.
    DJI Osmo comes with company’s signature three-axis gimbal stabilisation technology which eliminates the shake of traditional handheld devices. DJI says Osmo can be used to create cinematic shots and is extremely easy to use and setup.
    The Osmo is compatible with DJI’s Zenmuse camera series but the standard 12-megapixel camera is capable of 4K video and has a 1/2.3-inch image sensor. The camera has a 94 degree field-of-view lens.

    Amazon will no longer sell Chromecast or Apple TV.
    Amazon today said it will stop selling Apple TV and Google Chromecast devices that compete with the online retail titan’s own media-streaming hardware.
    The reason given for the move was an intent to focus on devices that play well with Amazon Prime video service, which the Seattle-based company has been ramping up with original shows and content partnerships.
    “Over the last three years, Prime Video has become an important part of (Amazon subscription service) Prime,” an Amazon spokesperson said in an email response to an AFP inquiry. “It’s important that the streaming media players we sell interact well with Prime Video in order to avoid customer confusion.”
