Pebble 2, Pebble Time 2, Peble Core accessory have been announced by the company on its new Kickstarter project.
Pebble’s smartwatches are getting an upgrade, with the company announcing a new Kickstarter project for Pebble 2, Pebble Time 2 and two new GPS accessories.
Pebble’s Kickstarter project has already raised over $5 million, nearly five time the original $1 million goal. Pebble’s new smartwatches come with a heart-rate sensor, a feature that was in missing the previous version.
Pebble Core accessory comes in two versions: one designed for runners and one for the hackers. Core has 3G support, which allows for a phone-free running experience with GPS and music, and interestingly runs on Android, rather than Pebble’s own watch OS.
Pebble 2 and Pebble Time 2 are two new smartwatches which put the focus on activity tracking and fitness, a new focus point for the company.

Pebble Core, meanwhile is 3G-enabled, GPS accessory that can be used while running. Pebble says this will free users of being dependent on armbands, etc to keep their phone while running. Core will stream music from Spotify and sync GPS data with apps like Runkeeper, Strava and Under Armour Record. It will start at $69. Pebble Core offers 9 hours of location tracking, offline music, has 4GB space and supports WiFi and Bluetooth as well.
Pebble Core for Hackers, on the other hand, is a tiny Android powered computer that can fit to a keychain. A user can ‘hack’ it aka use the software development kit to set up Core for anything. Pebble says, the Core can be used to call an Uber with a click, stream data from car, control a drone or pretty much anything else. Core also has an hardware extension port, and two programmable buttons. This too is priced at $69.
