    Mi band 2 is made up of silicone and is IP67 certified water-resistant. The smartband weighs only 7gm.
    Xiaomi just launched Mi Band 2 in China, which will go on sale from June 7. The smartband is the successor of Mi Band, but comes with a host of improvements, including a heart rate sensor. Priced at 149 Yuan (Rs 1,500 approx), Mi band 2 now has a scratch-resistant OLED screen.
    Xiaomi VP, Hugo Barra posted details about Mi Band 2 on his Facebook page along with pictures of the device. “We just stepped up our game with Mi Band 2, now with an OLED display for you to see your progress and more at a glance. Plus, it’s now a watch too,” he said.
    The most noticeable change in the Mi band 2 is addition of a 0.42-inch OLED display. Next up, is an all-new optical heart-rate sensor, something which we didn’t see in Mi Band.

    Qualcomm has partnered with various Original Design Manufacturers (ODM) to create new wearables for kids.
    Qualcomm has announced a new Snapdragon 1100 chipset for wearables with focus on trackers and devices made for children. The new Snapdragon 1100 chipset comes with an improved battery life, LTE support and other features.
    When it comes to wearables segment, Qualcomm says 80 per cent of Android wear devices are powered by its processors. In February, the chipset manufacturer had announced a new Snapdragon 2100 chipset for wearables.
    “When it comes to the wearable segment, the opportunities are many. It’s not just going to be about bands but also smart glasses, VR devices and many more,” said Pankaj Kedia, Qualcomm’s head of wearables.

    Acer has launched a new Liquid Zest Plus smartphone, along with TravelMate P2 notebook series and a cloud-based vision for IoT devices called BeingWare, at the annual Computex conference 2016.
    Acer’s Liquid Zest Plus smartphone is priced at $199 and comes with a 5.5-inch full HD display, Android 6.0, and a Mediatek processor. The USP of the phone is the 5000 mAh battery, which Acer says will last for three days and can also double up as a power bank.
    It has a 13MP rear camera with PDAF, and also supports DTS-HD premium sound.
    The smartphone will be available in Europe, Middle East and America markets by July.
